Virtual background images should only be used when they help fulfil your communication objectives for official online meetings/conferences. If you notice uneven edges or missing parts of your head and shoulders when moving, opt for a blurred background instead of using a virtual background.
General rule: If something is distracting, eliminate it!
You are a professional, therefore, ensure that you are communicating in the best way possible. It is essential to do the following things:
- Framing yourself so that your head and shoulders fill the screen (like a newscaster)
- Ensure that your camera is at eye level
- When you talk and listen, it's important to look into the camera
- Your face is the brightest part of the image, and it is not outshone by any windows or lights
